UAE Residents Can Now Get Emirates ID in 24 Hours

The UAE Government has made it possible for citizens and residents to obtain an Emirates ID within 24 hours through a service called ‘Fawri’.

According to the details, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security has launched a new service called ‘Fawri’ that will allow citizens and residents of UAE to obtain an Emirates ID within 24 hours.

The Emirates ID is a necessary document / identity card for everyone residing in the UAE and it is used to access Government services or pass through immigration at the airport’s smarter gates.

What is Fawri?

Fawri is a service made available for UAE and GCC nationals that are residing in the UAE and it allows them to obtain an Emirates ID in 24 hours, if they fulfill all requirements.

The service allows these individuals to get an Emirates ID issued for the first time, renew expired ID card, or get a replacement for a lost of damaged card as well.

Furthermore, the expats that are not UAE or GCC nationals can available the Fawri service to replace their lost or damaged ID cards.

How to Access Fawri Service?

If your Emirates ID has expired, lost or stolen, you can visit the nearest ICP Customer Happiness Center with the proper documentation and report the incident to deactivate the ID card and get a new one. Furthermore, if your old ID card has been damaged, you are required to produce it along with your documentation.

Required Documents

UAE Nationals – Original valid passport or family book.
GCC Nationals – Documentation proving residency in UAE.
Expat Residents – Original passport stamped with valid residency permit.

Moreover, if the lost ID card belongs to a child, the parent needs to produce the original birth certificate of the child along with a colored passport size photo.

Process

You need to fill out the application form of at the ICP Customer Happiness Centre or download the UAE ICP app on your iPhone or Android and request for a new ID card and pay the fee.

The applicant will be informed of the application’s status and delivery, which will be made within the next 24 hours.
