Imran Khan defeat in NA-122 says Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information, Pervez Rashid on Saturday said the recounting of votes has not only confirmed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief’s defeat in NA-122 but also proved the latter’s allegations wrong.

“We reopened the constituencies (for audit) and none of Imran Khan’s allegations proved correct,” Pervez Rashid said while addressing a press conference here.

He said Pakistan Muslim League-N is the party that is waiting most impatiently for the tribunal’s decision on NA-122.

Pervez Rashid said the vote recount shows that Imran Khan lost to Ayaz Sadiq with even a greater margin in NA-122 when compared to the previous result.

He said Imran Khan had demanded election audit in four constituencies and results of the three had already come out while that of the fourth is in front of us today.

The Information Minister said the election tribunal has forwarded its report on the findings to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

He said the allegations Imran Khan had hurled from atop the container, he later chose not to include them into his application for election audit.

Pervez Rashid said it was utmost effort of the government to convert the Peshawar tragedy into our strength.

He expressed his optimism about the role of National Action Plan and the 21st amendment of the constitution towards restoring peace in Pakistan and making it a stronger country.

on the other hand , Mazari slams Rashid

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokeswoman, Shireen Mazari on Saturday said that recounting was not conducted in the National Assembly constituency NA-122 and it was just a verification of the votes.

According to a statement issued here, Shireen Mazari claimed that thirty thousand bogus votes were found from NA-122, saying forms 15 and 16 were nowhere to be found in more than 100 polling stations.

She said several contradictory ballot results of some of the polling stations were found in the electoral record. Mazari added that Federal Information Minister, Pervez Rashid was deliberately creating confusion.

She asked if the government was insistent that the elections were fair then why is it reluctant to form a judicial commission.

Earlier, Pervez Rashid said the recounting of votes not only confirmed PTI Chief Imran Khan’s defeat in NA-122 but also proved the latter’s allegations wrong.

He said the vote recount showed that Imran Khan lost to Ayaz Sadiq with even a greater margin in NA-122 when compared to the previous result.

Rashid added the allegations Imran Khan had hurled from atop the container, he later chose not to include them into his application for election audit.

But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
